I drove the beast to a Cruise In at a local restaurant in Mt. Airy earlier tonight. It's there every Thursday night during the summer, starting at about 6pm. I didn't get there until 8 so there were only about 6 cars left, but talking to folks there they had about 20 stop by.
On the way back I took the Andy Griffith Parkway out towards "Mt. Pilot" (Pilot Mountain) and a guy in a red '34 hot rod flew by me, silently. My guess he had an LS engine in it. I kept up with him through the 45 mph section (a few traffic lights). Once it opened up to 55 he made distance, then when the signs changed to 65 I let 'er roll up to 90 just to keep up.
