Just back from our great trip to Dearborn for the 55th anniversary show, awesome time! I will post many more pictures for all to see, tomorrow. There were 298 birds there, only 9 squarebirds though. Dad and I had a great time, and Gold bird ran fine. Tired tonight so thats all for now!

It truly was a good time. They had a DJ, prizes, pictures, concessions, portable toilets, and plenty of parking lot and grass for everyone to relax and enjoy the day under lots of shade trees.

Outstanding guys and to think that father and son attended the Dearborn event with the original Goldbird, in all it's splendour I can only imagine how proud both of you must have been, especially since this classic has been in your family all that time. Tom Sr. and Tom Jr. definitely keep the pictures coming once you have had a good rest.

Sorry we missed you too, Tom. I live close, so I was able to bop in and out at different times (mostly late). It was hot, skys were blue with some clouds, but it never rained all day.
Check out the red convertible behind Robin:

Sorry we did not get to see you Dave, we left just after 1pm. Good thing as we got home and it started to really rain. My wipers don't work right now, it would have been a tough ride home! Again it was so cool to see all of the nice birds, the 9 squarebirds that were there looked very nice!sigpic1960 Gold Bird, original owner since new. tbirdregistry #3158Comment

Gentlemen thanks very much for the pictures and I agree with Anders, as a squarebird(s) owner it is fantastic to see them all in a row. All the converts have been restored beautifully, especially that blue 58 convertible and of course our own Goldbird. Anybody get any VIN numbers of these old classics or chat it up about our site?Dano Calgary,Alberta Canada

Dan, I told the other owners about our site, they all wanted to check it out. The blue 58 was an awesome car, the body work was amazing. He told Dad and I that he has spent over 70k on the project. He showed pictures of the car, which he paid 450 dollars for ! It had a tree growing in the engine compartment! It was really a basket case.I will keep spreading the word about our great Squarebirds!sigpic1960 Gold Bird, original owner since new. tbirdregistry #3158Comment

Wowww! $70K to restore that beautiful '58 Convertible! I can believe that! I am not far behind him in restoring Yellow Rose! A few more $10K's spent and I will catch up with him! I hope when I am finished Rose will look as beautiful as his Blue '58 does! Love that color! Can you imagine that when he found that Squarebird it had a tree growing in the engine compartment!!?? I have heard and seen pictures of that before! What a great job he has done on restoring her!
Thanks for talking up the Forum, ya'll! Much appreciated!

It was too bad there were not more of us Squarebirds at the show, just shows how rare our cars are! The blue 58 was a real beauty, the bodywork was amazing and the color was fantastic in person. Dad did not remember that being an original color but our new friends said it was. I think the name was monarch blue? Hopefully we will have some new members because of the show. Dad goes back to Florida this afternoon, been a great time for us.sigpic1960 Gold Bird, original owner since new. tbirdregistry #3158Comment
