Hi
These Blinds were popular in the Ford consul, Zephur, Zodiac range from 1956-62 in a lot of British cars but mainly in Australia.
I had one in my 62 Zodiac, and in my 1960 Vauxhall Cresta.
Different Counties might have used them at different times, i will see if i can dig out an old car mag showing were you could buy , as you could close the blinds, or pull them up out of the way.
I understand it looks strange but they were the real deal.
Kev.
For the record, there a rare option here and fectch a good priceComment

Hi,
As Rockin Kev mentioned the Steel Blinds were very popular here in OZ in the '50s & '60s & the Plastic ones in the '70s. I believe Tinting became legal either in the late
'70s or early '80s & they became pretty well obsolete.
Having lived in Canada from '71-'76, I brought back a '73 Corvette Stingray with me that had tinted Windows. I had a ****-of-a time convincing them that, that was the way it came from factory. They wanted me to change the Windshield, but gave up after some persuasion. There's a '60 Squarebird getting around with the Steel Blinds here in Adelaide where I'm from. I'll take a Pix next time I come across it.
