I saw these also, but wondered about their history. I noted that 'NOS' was not used in the listing. If they were in fact NOS then I'd say they would have had a coat of red oxide primer on them like other sheet metal products Ford sold at the parts counter.

In that last pic, the one that shows both new skirts laid out, what on earth are those wingnut looking tabs on each end?

Isn't that used on the fiberglass replacements...?

Definately not O.E. looking to me. Original FoMoCo skirts use the 1/4 panel pins and oval holes stamped into the steel FoMoCo fender skirts for mounting purposes....

No wingnuts please! The fiberglass skirts just don't fit or look like they belong on the car. Give me a good old rusty pair and I,m happy.

They look dodgy. I have two pair of skirts and neither of them have that attaching hardware but do have the oval hole as mentioned.

Those are straight across the bottom, my original steel skirts have a small point or triangle at the lower leading edge that matches the lower body under the 'spear'. Hard to explain, wish I had a good picture handy.

I agree they don't look anything like the skirts I have on my 58.

My skirts have pins at the font and back that go into holes on the qtr panel. Then an arm that has a lever you push up snugs them onto the car and kind of latches in place on the skirt.

If you look at this photo you can just see the ring of the lever about a qtr of the way back. It is about an inch back from the edge of the rim.

And you can see the spear that dgs is talking about...

I knew something was 'funny' with that Ebay ad.

No wonder those things are "rust free".
