    A "Down Under" S&S

While many of us in the northern climes are now starting to feel the effects of winter (it is snowing in El Paso and western part of Texas!) the guys "down under" are now having their S&S season! Chris ~ bird 60 just sent me some neat pix of one he was at with his beautiful '60 Red Chariot. I think you will enjoy these pix. I especially like the cut out Tbirds that they put in front of their Birds when on display. Here is what Chris had to say.

    (4) T.Birds, (3) ' 65s & my ' 60. The others are some of our Club Cars, (THE WANDERERS ROCK "N" ROLL CAR CLUB) Camero, Buick & Mustang. The ' 58 Buick looks & is better than new. Total Restoration $160,000 Ozzie $. We have nick named it The X TAXI from Cuba.

    Regards.....Chris

Chris that's a unique place to put the 58 hood emblem on the front fenders of your 60. I picked up some 352 emblems ( new ) at a swap meet and placed them on the front quarter panel between the front well and the door seam.

      '58-'59 Emblem

      Hi Dan,

As far as I'm concerned they should have been fitted there from Factory, as the front Fender looks bare.
Show us a pix with the 352 emblem that you scored.

Chris go to the main page scroll down to " Our Rides " section and open it. Go to the thread 06.24.09 that Yellowrose posted " Dan & Marg's 58 & 60 " open that and then go to page 2. There is a picture of the 352 emblems there on the 60.

          352 Emblem

          Hi Dan,

I had a look but they are very faint. If you get a chance take a close-up shot to show detail.
We have another show this Sunday, I'll send some pix.

And not a '66 to be seen!

Ah well, took mine to the pub this afternoon, nice hot and sunny day made a beer seem like a good idea!

I'm jealous of scumdog's weather. While he's tooling around pub-jumping on a hot day down under, Detroit is enjoying a whopping 32 degrees F.

Howard Prout told me Buffalo is getting 10" of snow. Worst of it is ahead of us for the next 3-4 months. Just the idea of a nice warm day with a cold beer... I'm about to move in with Richard or Ray for a few months.

                    A "Down Under" S&S

I dont know about that "moving in with Ray" part! It, supposedly, got to 24 degrees this morning, though I think that is wrong. Maybe in the Hill Country. It is 39 now, and they are predicting snow showers for San Antonio around noon time, which is about now! I dont see any snow on the ground.. Yet! I think it is wishful thinking. Also, I only have a one car garage, and it is not heated... So one of us would be working on our Big Fords outside in the freezing temperatures and snow! Since I don't own a Big ford..... lmbo... As for Richard, you would have to run that by his wife!

Well, FORGET IT, then. I can be just as cold here in Michigan, and still be at home! But, I still like the idea of a hot day and a cold beer. Maybe someone in Australia will adopt me...

                          A "Down Under" S&S

Dave, I bet you that with your vast automotive experience you will receive an invitation from one of the guys "Down Under" to "Come On Down" as soon as they see that post! Probably from Penelope, or bird 60 or some of the other good mates there!

Come to think of it, I changed up my mind! They can't have you! If I can figure out how to make the access to my backyard bigger, we can build a BIG heated and airconditioned garage and tool shop that covers my whole backyard! I am tired of cutting the grass back there anyway! lol...

It's 11am and just under 80 degrees here at the moment with only a mild breeze, trying to put off mowing the lawns..hehehe!!

Thinking of heading off to a motorbike rally and camping the night in a small place about 150 miles north of here...ah, the NZ summers!

(Of course NEXT weekend when I head to the West Coast on the Harley it might well be raining at about an inch an hour..)

OMG! Ray, take some notes. Richard is, “Southern Hospitality” personified; a true Gentleman. Richard, you ARE the MAN!

Did you get that, Ray? Richard offered what he has, to me AND my Galaxie! Now, I need to convince Robin (my wife) to quit her teaching job and move down to Richard’s with me. (I’ve always wanted to live in beautiful Kentucky… Bluegrass, Churchill Downs, sippin’ whiskey, and the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln.)

                              Richard, how much is rent?
