Okay the windshield looks like a squarebird, but I was thinking of an Edsel car under all of that "stuff". The front bumper is off a 1973-80 GM truck!!

Just fo a bit of fun, I e-mailed the boys and I am trying to get the VIN # of the Chickenmobileto see if it is really a 58. I am not sure John Rotella at the TBird registry will be ready for this, if it is.Is Colonel Saunders ( KFC ) jealous
On another note, the " road trip " is for a good charity Children's Rehabilitation Foundation.

No way it's a Squarebird. Look, there's no back seat, the door handles are too low and the wrong shape, there's no vent windows, doors are too 'thick', visors seem too long. The 'craftsmanship' on this is way too sloppy to think that the creator of this ... thing ... would have put the kind of work to change those details. Not worth it.
So, I wonder, what IS it? I was thinking Baby Bird, but they had vent windows too. And it seems too wide for a Baby Bird.Comment

Hi Doug!
If Dan is able to get the VIN # out of those two guys in the article, that should tell us what it is. I agree with ya'll that it does not look like a Tbird, but they said in the article that it is.. or was.... In one way, I hope it ain't. In another way, if it is, at least we will know where one more Tbird is... or was....

the more i think about it the more i think it was a baby bird as dgs posted and when the writer typed it up he hit the "8" instead of the "7" easy mistake
IF that is a baby bird someone should be shot i atleast hope it was a TOTAL rusted basket case and not a good restorable one
but to each thier own
i know i wont be turning rosie into a chicken car anytime soon57 ford sedan

I found another article about the car posted at the Winnipeg Free Press...
This is a snip from the article:
"So what the heck is it? According to the transfer of ownership document the car is a 1958 Ford Thunderbird convertible. It is presently both battered and fried, but the potential is definitely there. Someone spent a great deal of time building this car. With the exception of the actual passenger compartment, the majority of the car was fabricated by hand with fibreglass, including the doors, the hood, the front fenders and the rear quarter panels. "
In one of the pictures you can see part of the dashboard and it sure does not look like a squarebird dash. The windshield might be from a square, the wipers look to be in the right position. It also says in the article that is has a 289 V8 in it.Attached FilesComment
