    Heat Wave

Well I hope you Southern boys are handling that dangerous heat wave down there. 100+ degrees everyday! I'm "complaining" about 85 degrees up here! You can't be driving your Squarebirds in that heat are ya? I was cooking in mine even with the meager A/C.

    thanks for the sympathy.
yea - it sucks down here right now.

We usually don't get this kind of heat in Oklahoma until mid-July and August.

It makes it almost impossible to do any outdoor activity during the day.
Even cars with AC are having a hard time handling it.

I have a swimming pool that OUGHT to give some relief. It probably would if the water temp wasn't around 94 degrees!!
    Yea - that's all I want - a warm bath.

    just miserable...

Sheesh, I was looking at the 10 day forecast for San Antonio, TX and it's over 100 every day with no rain expected! Gotta suck...

        Heat Wave

Yup, this is the time of year when it gets really hot in Texas! However, we are about a month early, as Casey said. Temperatures are about 10 degrees above normal for this time of year. We broke a heat record of 102 yesterday in San Antonio, with a 103. Not only that, we also broke the low temperature record for this day. It was something like 85 for a low, which broke the previous all time low for this date. In parts of Texas west and southwest of us towards the Mexican border and on it, it was still over 100 degrees last night at 10pm. I was told that it was 100 degrees clear to Toronto, Canada yesterday!

We are under Stage 2 water restrictions. No watering the lawn with a sprinkler but once a week. There are numerous other restrictions in force. Fountains have been cut off, etc. You can water by hand, which is what I am doing to try to keep my grass alive. It is a battle to do so. The sun is just killing everyone's yards. Since I lost my trees to age, there is nothing left to protect the lawn from the sun.

As for driving our Tbirds in this weather, I wouldn't know. Mine is a Shop Queen and lives there...

If you love heat, ya'll come!

Hi guys. Be careful when going out and even in the house as at 100+ degrees, dehydration kicks in. Drink lots of fluids and keep the birds safely inside to protect the paint from the UV rays.

My 430cid bird stays in the garage as must as possible this time of year. We sneak out at night every once in a while. I do still have a new fuel line I need to change out though.

Hells-bells, we're lucky to see the high side of 50 degrees F. here for day after day at this time of year!!

Frosts are frequent and southerly squalls bring snow form time to time.

Can't wait until OUR summer, in the meantime I'm painting my valve covers, air filter and radiator shroud on my '66 to pass the time.

As well as fitting new tyres to the H-Ds, new fork seals in the wifes one, getting the F100 headers hi-temp HPC coated etc....
