Ok,
This isn't TBird specific so i thought I'd ask some of our mechanics in the group a question:
I rebuilt the entire master cylinder on my '53 Olds yesterday.
I had a shop manual so it wasn't too diffiult and I'm not having any problem with the MC itself.
My problem is with the brake line connection to the MC - it leaks.
It's a "side" type of line with a square fitting on the end with a hole in it..
There is a thru bolt that holds it on and there are 2 brass washers between the line fitting and the MC.
I've tightened it all up but is still leaks fluid when I apply the brakes.
Any suggestions?
by the way, is it possible to have fluid leaking out of the top of the dipstick if it is overfilled? That may part of my problem too. The Olds has a dipstick tube with a screw-in dipstick - not a MC "cap".
thanks,
Casey
