I witnessed it first hand....quite incredible what Kristensen was doing with the Thunderbird. (And Soper for that matter in the Fairlane). I checked the official timing and the Tbird was clocking 135mph along Lavant "straight". If anyone is not familiar with the Goodwood circuit it doesn't provide you with miles of run off area, so to do what these guys do takes a huge amount of bravery. Its a shame that the second St Marys race was affected by rain, the big Fords just couldn't put the power down.....
