  • Hurricane Ian Heads Towards Florida!

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of our Forum members located in Florida, Georgia and the Carolina's. I hope all of you have taken the necessary actions to protect your lives, your property, and your classic cars. Hopefully those of you who are leaving the Florida area are headed West on !H-10, into the New Orleans area out of the reach of the projected path of this storm.

I know that some of our Florida members are in the direct path of Ian and have been hit by it. When you have power to do so, conditions are safe to do so and you have internet, please post and let us know how you are! The same applies to those of you in Central Florida, Georgia and the Carolina's who are in the path of Ian as it makes its way to you. Our thoughts and prayers remain with you and yours. May all be safe.

I have not heard anything from our Florida members who were in the path of Ian. I continue to hope and pray they and their family (and Tbird(s) have survived. Here is what Ian has done to one mans car collection. Destroyed his McLaren and his Rolls Royce!

There are so many people who have lost everything, their lives destroyed, it's a little difficult to feel bad for this guy losing his McLaren and Rolls Royce.... if he can afford to buy them he can afford to lose them...... I'm just glad no one was injured... or worse!

Rescue teams are just now going into the neighborhoods to help residents and their pets. We still have no idea as to how many lives were lost. Power restoration will take a very long time, food and water will be first, but just getting to the people is a daunting task. Downed power lines are under the water in some places so rescue teams have to be very cautious.

I pray for those in trouble, who are hungry and who lost their homes. May God heal Florida and her people quickly.

The waterline in places is 'chest high'. Those with emergency portable generators would need to elevate them at least that high. Same with their cars.

It looks like Georgia dodged the bullet but the Carolina states are next. My heart, contributions, and prayers go out to those who suffered the storm. - Dave

In a follow up to what Dave just said, I have not heard or seen anything of our users and members living in Florida and the Carolina's. Hopefully, that is due to lack of power. I do have a couple of emails from a friend who was hit by it and has survived with damage.
