Jim, thanks for the links to these commercials! It is good to see how they were advertising them back then. I probably did see them back then, but if I did, I don't remember them.

Part of the reason my dad says 1960 Thunderbirds are his favorite car is that he is convinced that when they were new, and he was a young kid, he saw a t.v. commercial for it where they drove over glass (some clear material) and had an underside video shot during the commercial. I am yet to see a Thunderbird commercial like that, or any Ford commercial like that. I think his memory is likely wrong, or time altered the reality of what he saw. Regardless, I'm always watching these old commercials as they come into my path of random internet searching. I believe there are at least four different t.v. commercials for the 1960 Thunderbird. There are also at least five different magazine ads ran by Ford. They are themed as Action, Adventure, and a few others. I mentioned those magazine ads on a different post at some point over the last few months.
