Randall & Dana ~ 60birdaussie Move To Tasmania!

Randall & Dana have made the decision to re-locate to Tasmania, "Tassie" as he calls it. Presently, there are only 2 Forum Tbird owners on Tasmania that I am aware of and neither of them are active anymore. One owns a 1963 Hardtop Bulletbird, and the other a 1959 Hardtop Squarebird. There may be other Tbirds owners on Tassie, but if so, I do not know who they are. Randall sent me a picture and quick comment on loading up their 3 vehicles to ship to the port and then on to Tassie. Here is what he had to say and the picture...

"Howdy Ray, our two babies Tassie bound. Cheers Randall and Dana." (Actually there are three "babies" on that hauler!)

I decided to open a thread so that Randall can comment on their move as he sees fit and has time to do so.... He gave me quite a bit of information as to why the move, and what they will be doing when they get settled in there. But I will let him tell you more about that.

Randall and Dana have arrived by ship (I gather) in Devenport and so have their belongings, and cars. Now begins the process of moving everything from northern "Tassie" as Randall calls it, to Hobart in southern Tassie where he will be working. Doing the same kind of aircraft repair work he was doing before he left. He said it is about a four hour drive or so. He gave me a rundown on the weather, and my understanding is, that is similar to what he had in the area he left. For those who are not familiar with Tasmania, here are a couple of maps, showing the southern end of Australia mainland, the Bass Strait that separates them, and then one of Tasmania itself. Also a pic of his Tbird being delivered to him. (and also Dana's Bug). I think he will be starting work at his new job in Hobart the last of this month. So they have some more moving to do. For those interested in history, as I am, here is a Wiki article on how Tasmania came to be... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tasmania
