  • The day the music died

62 years ago today we lost some amazing musicians and although I wasn't born yet, i always loved the music from that era.
It was simple, positive for the most part and lifted the spirit. it's a shame these three artists weren't able to realize the full
potential of what they had to offer the world. Even so they were able to leave an amazing mark on the music industry and
the entire world with just a handful of wonderful musical creations.

The Big Bopper Big Bopper - Chantilly Lace (1958) - YouTube
Ritchie Valens Ritchie Valens - La Bamba (Live) - YouTube
Buddy Holly Buddy Holly - Not Fade Away (1957) - YouTube

Then the epic Don McLean performs American Pie live at BBC in 1972 - Newsnight archives - YouTube

Hope you all enjoy the music that will never die and the artists we will remember forever.

I wasn't quite 13 at the time. I started my Rock N Roll band 4 years later. As a lot of people then, I was inspired by Buddy, Elvis, Little Richard Roy Orbison etc. It was a very sad day. They may be gone but their music lives on. One day I'll see them in Rock N Roll Heaven.
