It Is With Great Sorrow I Tell You This....

I noticed over the weekend that Sandy Block - SandyBoy, Co-Founder of Squarebirds.org along with Alexander Sosiak, had not been on the Forum since last June. This evening I called his home and spoke with his wife. She told me that Sandy had lost his battle with cancer on July 5th after putting up such a strong battle for quite some time. I extended condolences to her on behalf of all Squarebirds members and expressed the great loss this is for us also. I will always remember the stories he told about how he and Alexander started this Forum and his McLaren Forum. It worked! We will miss him so much, as we miss Alexander. I will notify Julie and Marianne Sosiak of his passing.

I was thinking of Sandy the other day and didn't see any recent posts so feared he was not dong well. That's very sad news Ray but extending condolences was very nice of you - as mentioned - it is a great loss and he'll really be missed.

Hope you know how much the rest of us (at least me) appreciate all you guys do.

I too was thinking of Sandy during Yom Kippur, which began in the evening of Tuesday, September 25. Sandy and I always acknowledged each other's religious holidays, as an observance with great respect. We all enjoy Alexander's and Sandy's legacy everytime we bring Squarebirds to life. It's so sad to see these great guys go, but at the same time they've been called home, to a much better place. No more suffering for either of these gentlemen. God bless them both. - Dave

Marg and I pass along our deepest condolences to Sandy's wife and family. Mr. Block was a gentleman / father and of course crazy about his McLaren's. He will be sadly missed by our squarebird family but as stated earlier he does not need to fight the fight anymore. It was a pleasure to talk / text with him about our site and call him a freind.

For Sandy, his love was the ASC McLaren cars. Here is a look at his McLaren Forum that he created, as he helped Alexander Sosiak create this Forum, and Alexander helped Sandy create his McLaren Forum.

              http://www.ascmclaren.org

Here is the link to the pictures of Sandy's beloved Blue ASC McLaren and his Silver one. If you look closely, you will see a picture of Sandy in a yellow shirt standing by his blue one.

For those of you who don't know much about American Sunroof Company ASC McLaren's here is a link to it from Sandy's Forum.

Dave and I created a Memorial picture of Sandy - SandyBoy and his beloved blue ASC McLaren. Dave placed it on the Home page for the rest of this month.

Some of you have commented to me that you would like to send Sandy's widow a card. If you would like to do so, please send me an email or a PM, as I will not put her mailing address on the Forum. I will give it to you though if you would like to do this.

                    That is very sad news.

He and his Chrysler Imperials always reminded me of a neighbor I had as a kid. I thought of him recently when I was looking at a new Dodge Charger. I think he ordered one...wonder if he got it.

                        Dear Members,

I am new to this forum and I happened to notice on the main site link a picture of a man dressed like Dracula, in front of a Thunderbird.
I'm sorry to hear about the passing of Alexander Sosiak. He created a wonderful forum. It has been a great help to me with my questions.
I would like to leave my condolences to the Sosiak and Block family.

                        Sincerely,

                        Patrick Sullivan

It Is With Great Sorrow I Tell You This....

Hi Patrick, Thank you very much for your comments. They will be seen by some of his family members, who are on this Forum at times. Alexander loved to take his two nieces out for Halloween. He converted his Squarebird to a Halloween Tbird, with a red spotlight, different license plate frame, spray cobwebs in the car, and he and the girls would go on parade. At least once with Elvira, "Mistress Of The Dark" and her '59 Squarebird. Those were great times for the girls... and for him.. We will always miss him, and Sandy also, another of the co-founders, who passed away in 2012.

We are glad to have you as a Member, and if I can help, just let myself, Dave Dare ~ simplyconnected, our great webmaster, or any of the other Administrators or Moderators on the Forum.

                              There Is A Way....

Patrick, Alexander had a wealth of knowledge regarding these old Tbirds of ours. There is a way to get to know him better. Go to the Members List in the black border, and click on it. Go to the letter A and to the second page, I think it is. Look for Alexander and click on his name. There you will find every thread and post he ever made. There is a wealth of information there for you to soak up. Alexander also created the Lincolns Of Distinction Forum since he also owned an old Lincoln. It is still going and in fact it and this Forum run on the same server.

Then go to the letter S and look up Sandy Boy. Sandy helped start this Forum. He had a love for McLaren's and he started his own McLaren Forum. When they were first trying to get their Forum's started, they would feed each other questions to ask on their Forum's about their particular cars. People started finding their Forum, and activity started to grow and grow.. And now it is world wide, in so many different countries, with so many users on it today.
