    Nuts & Bolts

Here are a bunch of paper "gauges" that you can print out to help with being able to ID all kinds of nuts, bolts, screws and washers.

Read the note about printing from Chrome (Google Browser) and measuring the scale at the bottom of the page to make sure the proportions are correct.

Thank You for really GOOD info, Jim. I'm going to print these pages and laminate them for my garage.

Screw dimensions are confusing. I grew up using SAE course and fine fasteners but when I pick up an 'unknown' screw, it's nice to compare it against the metric chart.

Our old classics use bolts that we rarely see any more, like 7/16" engine mount, flex plate, or bell housing bolts. ARP makes a ton of money selling them in 'sets' (quality bolts, but very expensive). 3/8"-24 X 3/4" is another bolt commonly found on all classic Ford cars, but we're lucky to find one in today's stores.

Jim's charts will help to quickly id, for correct ordering. - Dave
