That picture sure brought me back. I love everything in it:
The Lionel diesel locomotive with a Christmas box car,
The Matchbox car (and the slot cars, too)
The lone marble (mom sewed up a tote bag for me with draw-strings),
...and Z-BRICK! I loved that stuff and it looks great.
All fond memories. - Dave

Actually........yes! Still have those slot cars and a few of my 027 gauge trains too!
(only the train engine and the 2 slot cars in this picture - box car is a new one) Both of these cars are Strombecker brand although my first slot car set was an Aurora brand. These are just the ones I have handy.

Had one pretty much like it when I was a kid - hours of fun before I discovered slot cars
Amazingly I still have mine too.
Don't remember Pig in the Garden - we were Monolopy-a-holics on snow days - otherwise we were sledding on our flexible flyers.
Cool memories - thanks!

That's one of my favorite toys. It teaches math, and is an excellent learning tool.Leave a comment:

WOW.
That piece of garbage is really "dumbed-down".
You gotta be a Mechanical Engineer to operate the ancient device that I have in my possession!Leave a comment:

Ok... who remembers this toy?
I found this in my mom's toy closet last weekend!
The only things missing are the original ballpoint pens.
Copyright is 1967 in case you're wondering.
The kids are onto this thing like flies on you-know-what!
I also recovered my "Pig In The Garden" game. Everything is still in the box. I would have to say that is a benefit of having parents that have lived in the same house since the early 60s'.Attached FilesLast edited by Dakota Boy; December 28, 2011, 08:46 PM.Tags: None
