    T Bird Deuce

Well, I got started heading out to the Garage.

I left a little after midnight on the 15th and so far have gone 7,051 miles with only 894 to go.

I should be in about midnight tonight.

Of course my sleep schedule will be screwed up for a couple of days. Took a nap from 6:30 to midnight and now up for who knows how long.

I am at Camp Atterbury in Indianapolis to turn in my gas mask and out process. I was able to turn in all the heavy stuff - helmet, body armor, groin protector (probably should have kept that), etc before I left Kuwait for here. I guess TSA figures a gas mask is needed on some flights.

So what do you do at 4:30 AM in an open bay transient barracks with various crescendos or snoring surrounding you? Check out the forums and see what is new.

I said all that to say I found a really neat link about The T Bird Deuce from Canada. Some of our Canadian people may be aware of this.

    Good Read!

Welcome home, Jim. We've been watching the news about our troops coming home. I'm so glad everyone will be home for Christmas.

I read about the T Bird Deuce. Gosh, the car circled all around where I live. As a hot rod, it started out as a Y-Block (312), someone changed it to a 351W, and it finally ended up as a SBF 302 w/an Olds rear end. (I wonder why they went down to a 302???)

It sure had an interesting past, and even outlived at least one owner.

Hey, when you get sorted-out, we would love to hear your stories about coming home. It sure is good to have you back home. - Dave Dare

      T Bird Deuce

Welcome Home, Jim! I see you are either still up, wide eyed and bushy tailed, or back up again! Thanks for posting the information about the T Bird Deuce! It just goes to show you that you can find an old car you used to own if it is still with us and you give it a good go. I often wonder what ever happened to my first car, an old '50's yellow Mercury with a black sun visor on it. It was my father-in-laws car and he traded it off for a Ford Retractable that we nearly wore out the first day putting the top in the trunk and back out again! When I found out he had sold the Mercury, I went to the car dealership and bought it back! We are glad to have you back. Thank you for your service. Now get some sleep!
