    VTCI Patches

Many members of Squarebirds are also members of the Vintage Thunderbird Club, International (VTCI) as I am. Two of our members of the South Texas Thunderbird Club (STTC), a VTCI Chapter, are immediate past-President of the VTCI, Lou Paliani, and immediate past-Secretary of the VTCI, Marilyn Paliani. They are Emeritus members of STTC.

Today, at our annual STTC Christmas Party, Lou gave me three patches that he said are considered to be rare. One of them is a white vintage VTCA patch he said was very rare. Another is an Australian Thunderbird Owners Club Of Australia patch. The third one is a patch from their first VTCI function to attend, in San Diego, CA in 1995. As the incoming President of STTC, he honored me by giving me these patches. Not only were Lou and Marilyn great VTCI leaders, but they have also been the backbone for many years of our STTC. They have been a tremendous help to us in putting on VTCI Regional and other events. Here are the patches.

Ray that was a very nice touch from Lou / Marilyn and I am sure that they wanted them to go to a " true " Thunderbird enthusiast.. Put them under plastic to protect the integrity and shape for many years to come..

      Ray,

Notice the VTCA patch, before the club was rename to International, that dates the patch to between the late 70's when the 61-66 cars were accepted and mid eighties when the club changed to the VTCI. Congrats on your new position with the STTC.

        VTCI Patches

Hi Ken, Yes, the whit patch is a VTCA patch and I am sure that makes it pretty rare as Lou said. I changed the wording on my original post to reflect that. I meant to say VTCA. As Dan suggests, I need to put them in plastic to preserve them. On the other hand, I have been thinking of buying a VTCI jacket (the new ones look to be really nice) and perhaps put them on it. It is something to think about. In any case, they are nice keepsakes. Lou has also given me, in the past, a rare Tbird key chain for my Tbird keys. They are great people and have been a tremendous asset to our local and area clubs. It is great to have a past President and Secretary of VTCI in your local Tbird club!
