Tail light surrounds, quarter panel extensions, Q's..... they see to have some nicknames. Do you know about the exterior chrome package when these were chromed along with the head light bezels, hood scoop, and wiper cups?

Would you happen to have the Ford part number for one of these " exterior chrome packages " ?

No I do not have a part number.

To my understanding (which is limited), the exterior chrome package, or dress kit was a dealer installed option. There was also an under the hood dress up (chrome) kit too.

Here is what I know regarding the Chrome Engine Dress Up kit and the Exterior Dress Up kit. According to the VTCI Official Factory Specifications (OFS) they were dealer installed or installed by the owner, like I did. The Exterior Dress Up kit components, like the wiper well castings, headlight surrounds, the hood scoop, curved tail lite extensions, and the tail light surrounds over the tail lights, are made of pot metal. Some of those may not be pot metal, like the wiper well castings, head light surrounds, and the tail light surrounds over the tail lights. As such, the hood scoop and the curved tail light extensions are subject to being bent slightly during the chroming process. What I did on Tweety Bird was to buy those parts off eBay, had them cleaned and chromed and kept my OEM parts in case I ever wanted to put them back on again. When I got back those parts, the hood scoop and the curved tail light extensions, I could not get them to fit on the car because they had been slightly bent in the chroming process. I had no problems with the other parts because they are heavier metal, especially the tail light surrounds. So I bought another hood scoop and curved tail light surrounds, told the chromer what happened to the first set and this time they got it right and they fit. Regarding the Engine Bay Dress Up Kit, I had no problem with it. I chromed the valve covers, the air cleaner!, the VR box, the Oil Cap and my dual master cylinder and 8" Dual Power Booster were also chrome.

              What the OFS states.

Must admit, the tail end chrome tail light surrounds do look good but wanted to keep my '58 original . The front head light doors are the only items that I have ever seen listed in the Ford accessory / dress up advertisement booklets . The part numbers are as follows for the Thunderbird if interested .

                Regular part numbers : B8SZ 13064-A , rs and B8SZ 13064-A , ls .
                Head lamp door " chromed " accessory , B8S 13063-C rs , and B8S 13063-D ls.

Have pictures here someplace including the original Ford boxes . Will keep looking .

It might be worth pointing out to the originator of the post that 58-59 headlight doors/bezels are different than the 1960 ones. I learned that one the hard way.

Yes, I meant to say that in my post. The way the '60 headlight bezels are secured to the frame is different than for the '58-'59's. So if you are looking for replaceable headlight bezels make sure what you get are specific to the Squarebird you own.

Found the pictures I had mentioned in post # 7 . Can not remember where I got them but thought they were worth keeping for future reference . The chrome lamp door or headlight trim I mentioned came from the '59 Quick reference Catalogue of March '59 , FD-7514-59 . The part number shown would be for big Ford models . ( B9A16074-A and 16075-A ) . Does not list the Thunderbird '58 part number as shown in the pictures . Only thing the pictures of the Chrome doors does not show is the actually cast number on the back . Would like to have known that but would assume it to be the same as the standard painted doors . And the search goes on .
