Howard, if you have to replace it, you can get them new from the Bird Nest, and probably the other Tbird parts houses, for less than $400. Check them out in the Advertisements Forum and see what you can get them for below $400.

One thing to consider...I don't think the Tbird vendors carry the high efficiency radiator.

There are thousands of good radiator shops across the USA. I go to one, "Four Seasons" where they do everything. They also sell Modine radiators and heater cores.

"We have been recoring radiators since 1972...":
Four Seasons Radiator Service of Madison, MI, offers cooling system fabrication and more for racecars vintage autos. Call 248-585-6484.

Give them a call. - Dave

Thanks for the Info. Im going to go see them today, Im probably going to buy new, Since I no longer trust this shop to fix anything.

Is a Re-core much cheaper with shipping than just buying new?

I believe they are about the same money BUT copper transfers heat MUCH better than aluminum. Ask any serious cook about the difference. Your oem radiator is copper which is much easier to repair. - Dave

The shop in Ft Smith quoted me 650 to recore this one, A new one is 400 or so. Im going to have to think about that. since I'll probably only ever drive the car short distances and then maybe 3 or 4 times a year.

If he quoted six hundred he's really saying, he doesn't want to do it but he will for a basket of money.

Call around or call my guy and tell him up front, you have a classic car. Detroit businesses cater to old cars because we love to see them on the road. They ship radiators all the time.

Yes, I remember when you got it. Carl Heller supplied a very nice copper rad, much like your original. It sure looks handsome in your Squarebird, Eric.
