At grocery store parking lot and saw (side and rear) a 20xx Tbird drive by with 57 style headlight housings and 57 style fins. Caught me by surprise so did not get best view. Was down the road out of site to soon. Sure like to had better/longer view. Maybe one done custom or is a kit. Anyone have info on this ?

2000's Tbird as a '57
Hi Bill,
There are several companies out there specializing in modifying Retrobirds. One of them is Power Sports, that has a kit that will make a Retrobird look like a Babybird. Unfortunately, their website http://www.powersports.com/ is down for maintenance when I went to visit it. However, if you look at this website,
you will see a number of modified Retrobirds, including the RetroBatmobileBird. There is or was a Valmet custom retractable hardtop being made for the Retrobird, but I understand it is no longer on their website. Apparently, Power Sports also makes the Retrobird tonneau cover that you will see in some of the pix. I will post some pix that I saw, including one of what you might have seen, or one like it. The front end looks like it is the standard Retrobird front from what I can see, but maybe Power Sports has a front end kit that makes it look like a Babybird. It also has a tonneau cover on it. We may not know until the site comes back up again. I gather it has been down since the 21st. Here are the pix.Last edited by YellowRose; July 25, 2011, 12:59 PM.

I think this is the PowerSports on eBay.
Not bad. Generally, the Retro Bird folks probably don't like it or Baby Bird Purists but kinda neat. Seems the kit was like 6K and 14K to have them put it on and repaint. The Gas filler is in the trunk.
It is a father son team. This one was on the site and they have a red one also that they show there.

Hi Jim!
Thanks for that link. I think that must have been what Bill saw. He lives on the West Coast, so there might be one in his area. I am not sure that is the Power Sports one, or the one by this father and son team. Actually, I think it looks pretty neat, if you like the Babybird style. Here is the link to the father and son company with more pictures of that black one and the red one. If you click on the links on the left, you can see the mold process and more. The kit costs $4,000 and you install. $6,000 installed by them on your vehicle and $11,000 for a complete turn-key conversion.
