    MYSTERY WIRING

IN THE PROCESS OF HUNTING SHORTS AND FIXING LOOSE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS ON MY 66Q TOWN LANDAU, I STUMBLED UPON SOME MYSTERY WIRING..
HOPING SOME OF YOU AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRICAL EXPERTS CAN FILL IN THE GAPS LEFT BY THE MANUAL.

PIC #1 - SOMETHING CONNECTED TO A POWER WIRE TO THE GAUGES
(COULD THIS BE SOME TYPE OF NOISE FILTER / SURPRESSOR?
WHY WOULD IT BE INSTALLED ON THE 12V POWER SUPPLY TO GUAGES?)

PIC #2- WIRES FOUND BEHIND THE RADIO AREA, NOT CONNECTED.
(ARE ALL OF THESE RADIO RELATED?
NO SPEAKERS FRONT OR REAR, ONLY THE FOUR IN THE DOORS, NEWLY WIRED WITH AFTERMARKET WIRING.)

    PIC #3 - A "RED" 8-WIRE CONNECTOR
(WHAT, IF ANY, SIGNIFICANCE IS A RED TERMINAL CONNECTOR VS STANDARD BLACK?)

PIC #4 - WIRES FOUND BEHIND PASSENGER SIDE DASH PANEL, NOT CONNECTED
(NO CLUE WHERE THESE COME FROM OR WHERE THEY GO)

ANY DIRECTION / HELP IN IDENTIFYING WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED.
    THANKS,
    RIC

Picture # 1 is easy, attaches to the CVR . Did your car have the am/8track radio ?

Picture two . The wire splits into two . The one with the orange goes to the right side door speakers . the white wire to the left side of course.

Picture # four . The yellow single wire is for your power antenna , If there was one .

Do you have the " Jim Osborn " 1966 thunderbird Electrical assembly manual . Pretty well all of this is in there .

You're awesome - Very much appreciate the response.
I do have that manual, bit it is extremely difficult for these old eyes.
Also have shop manual with schematics that leave a bit to be desired.

As for Picture # 1, does that dohicky attach to the 12v IN or the 5v OUT on the CVR?
(Not sure what radio came in it - I have an after-market AM/FM/AUX going back in).
Picture #4 is the same as #3 except the two terminal blocks are connected and out of the way.
Which begs the question: Do the 3/4 connectors in Pic 4 plug into the 3/4 connectors in Pic 2?
Any significance to the RED connector vs BLACK ?
      Inquiring minds never sleep ...

        For picture one, CVR ' suppression choke " goes to supply wire . Refer to shop manual, page 15-12, part 15-4, # 1 & # 3. Also, page 22-4/5 ( schematics .)
Hope this helps . Will look a bit more on the other picture references to wires .

Does your car have door radio speakers ? does your car have a power antenna ?

Will check manual when back in town.
YES to Door Speakers - (2) in each, total of four.
Aftermarket wiring with HD speaker wire.
Appears that original wiring in doors is abandoned in place.
Aftermarket AM/FM/AUX Radio - No power antenna.
          Thanks again.
