    CVR circuit to trunk?

    64 Hardtop.

Here's a picture of the behind my rear seat, facing backwards, passenger side. The second is a close up of the two connectors.

The wiring harness comes up from the tunnel and into the trunk to feed the tail lights, trunk light, and fuel gauge sender. The old cover was rotted so this is new stuff. I still had about 12" left where it exited the plastic tunnel conduit (which I never removed from the car), so I know these wires that are supposed to go into this direction.

The yellow wire with a single female connector is to the sender. The black/ black with blue stripe wires with the male/ female connector is not shown on my electrical diagram (Jim Osbourn's Electrical Assembly Manual) at this location. They are the exact length as the yellow wire to the sender. The only black/ blue wires come out of the CVR.

I'm at a loss to what this double connector goes to.

Steve, have you taken a look at the wiring schematics for the Flairbird in the TRL? If not, you might look there to see if it is different from what you are seeing in the Osborn schematics.

I think it's for the optional rear seat speaker.

Steve, the Wiring Diagrams for our Tbirds are located right above the CHASSIS section in the TRL. The schematics for the 1964 Flairbird are found between schematic #11 thru #14.

I think the rear speaker wire is a black and black with green stripe or green with a black stripe I can't remember which.

I think it's a green stripe. I don't have the eyes I used to have.

                    CVR circuit to trunk?

Steve, the wiring schematic is broken down into left/right side. You could print them out and tape them together. Here is what I found on another website about '64 radio wiring.

There are two cable connectors. One will have two wires with blue/red strip and black wire. The black wire is the 12 volt power source and the blue/red strip is for the internal radio back light. The other connector may consist of either 2 wires or 4 wires depending on if the car has the optional rear speaker. These wires are black with a green strip. The only other connection is the antenna lead which plugs into the rear of the radio.
