    Autolite filter help

My 62 has a replacement Holly on it. I want to return the Autolite 4100 to the car. I purchased one off eBay and it has a metal can that I believe to be a fuel filter. I can blow air right thru it with any resistance. What was stock and what should I purchase? Thanks Dave

The 4100 carburetor with the inline filter was only used in 1960. Your car used a 4100 without the filter. Good luck with the 4100. Most of us that had 4100's replaced them with an Edelbrock or a Holley because they run like junk with Ethanol fuel.

Thanks John! I have a working Holly on it now. I may never put it on the car permanently. Especially if doesn’t work well. Dave

If you can find non-Ethanol fuel it will probably be ok. If you are going to rebuild it you can get kits that say they are Ethanol friendly. The accelerator pumps get chewed up really fast by Ethanol fuel.
