yes i had heard of this. problem to me thou is that it is better to have ;your engine running when activating the top as the top mechanism draws a ot of current, thus you need to start the car which voids the remote control idea. my need was to work the top from the trunk with a switch so one could manually move things in or out or up and down to trouble shoot malfunctions.

there is a thread now on Squarebirds on putting a top up/down switch in the trunk on a 60 bird so one an work the top from the trunk. has anyone rigged up a switch for the bullet birds so i can work the top alone from the trunk area without calling for someone to do it from the door. i have been using a long paint roller extension rod to push the switch from 10 feet away.

Have you considered one of these? It allows you to operate the top from up to 100 feet away.
