Hello everyone. I am redoing my trunk on my 60 Golde and found the previous owner had duck taped over two rectangular openings on each side between the trunk and the back side of the wheelwell. Non of the parts houses have a plug for this or seem to have ever heard of this. They are stamped openings with a recessed lip. Something peculiar to Golde Birds? What are these and should they be left open? Thanks Scott

Actually those openings are only used on convertibles for when the top goes down. Apparently the same trunk pan was use for convertibles and hardtops. From the factory they were covered using a cloth type tape if I remember correctly. Duct tape works fine to keep dirt and moisture out of there.
