Saddle up your rear sway bar

A recent rear sway bar installation on the Bird revealed a downward facing, square shaped, U-saddle bearing all the downward force in fastening the bar to the axle housing.

If one clamped down hard on the saddle, through tightening the upward facing, arcuate shaped, U-bolt, then one could wind up spreading the saddle “downrights” against the uprights of the arcuate U-bolt.

So, we shaped a saddle support block

and inserted it between the saddle downrights.

The force is now spread across the axle housing.

That would be a great addition to the sway bar kit SW Thunderbird's currently sells!
    Are those saddles for sale?

I love the idea. Can you give us a source for the saddle insert?
