power steering steel lines

The forward horizontal steel line for power steering was leaking and tightening did not stop the leak. I decided to replace both lines and parts arrived. Any tips on installation? seems straight forward but the lines did not come with any gaskets or o rings. Would it be appropriate to use a tread sealer or even white plumbing thread tape? As always, Thanks for responding.

These lines are flare fittings. There should be no need for any gaskets or tape. If the new lines still leak then it's the fitting inside the socket that's deformed.

The steel lines are difficult to align and install. Best to remove the cylinder, thread the lines and then re-install the cylinder.

I agree it's difficult. I tried to install a set but never succeded. Finally I made my own lines from "brass" tubing...
