Thank you guys for the part knowledge. The bracket is now off and I am going to guess that it is aftermarket. I will add pictures in case anyone has seen this style before. It is different than what Ray shared pictures of. I currently see no markings/identification on it. I will let it sit in gas overnight to continue stripping the old paint and meanwhile hope there is a small stencil mark which I doubt. I intend to repaint and install with shims tomorrow.

Hi Jim, thanks for posting the pix. As you said it does not match anything I have in my folder on this mounting bracket. I would think that if it was OEM you should see the part # stamped clearly on it, as one can see in my pix. So you might be right about it being aftermarket. Or it could be one that I have never seen before, perhaps off another model of Ford or Lincoln. But then again, if it is OEM, it should have the part # stamped into it. The important thing about it is that, apparently it does do what it was made for.

My dad has an acre of property and a 10 car garage outside Buffalo in the rural farmlands. I have a 97 parts thunderbird and a couple other vehicles sitting back in the woods. I am at the point that if I find any reasonably priced squarebird part cars on Facebook marketplace I am going to buy it and toss it in the woods. I'm kicking myself it the rear because I passed on a rusted out 58/59 a couple years ago. In retrospect, not wise. Thankfully that was not an a/c car I passed on, nor was it heavily optioned.Jim Kowal

Update: The compressor bracket is now shimmed, the belt is now connected, and the pulley turns well. However, it only turns well until I plugged the wire in, then there was a lockup issue and grinding noises. It goes away when the wire is unplugged and the belt is still on. I guess I have another future project on my hands.Jim Kowal
