  • How To Unlock A 1960 Stuck Trunk Video!

Need some advice on how to open a trunk on my 1960 hardtop thunderbird. The key fits but it doesn’t turn. I have put lube in the key slot. It did open a few years ago. Got it back on the road today to as the wife (and 3 kids [all girls]) want it gone. Although the 7 year old has shown some interest when I took her for a spin today. I just need one more vote

Got it sorted. Thanks to Hammyhammbone of YouTube and a member of squarebirds for this very exact fix.

Thanks for the post and the video clip, Mick! This is a problem that many Squarebird owners run into. I am gonna make this a Sticky so it will be easy to find in the future...

Rich ~ 1960Thunderbird made that video back in June 2012, shortly after he joined this Forum. As a result of not being able to open the trunk, he used the information provided to him on this Forum. So he recorded what he did to get to the trunk lock from the back seat of his Tbird. Then, shortly after that posted that video on how to do it so others would have it to go by. But he has not been active on this Forum since July, 2012... But, thanks to Mick, who found the video, we now have it for posterity...
