I need to replace the weatherstrip on the quarter windows. How is the weatherstrip attached and can it be replaced without taking the window out of the car?
Thanks,
Bill
I am assuming that you are referring to the vertical weatherstrip that seals between the 1/4 window and door glass. If so, I'm pretty sure you can replace it without removing the window. First remove the rubber seal that is attached to the pillar post. Then with the 1/4 window in the up position, you should be able to slide the weatherstrip down into the 1/4 panel. The weatherstrip just slides into a channel in the window frame. Then to install a new one, slide the new weatherstrip down into the 1/4 panel and pull it upwards into the window channel. A little soapy water and pliers helps with this.

It should be tight enough to stay in place without sealant. If you use soapy water to help slip it in place, when the water dries, it won't go anywhere.
