Side clamps on 57 soft top

The hooks are adjustable. Try to screw them in. They have been a problem on my 56. One side works really well, the other nada.

When I have the soft top up and front and rear latches are latched the side latches are loose. They don’t even stay connected. Are the side seals worn out? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you
