    Oil Change

I have to change the oil in the engine, remove the oil pan to check some things as I had the car for 2 years and never did it.
Now the car has not ran since last summer, carburator is to be put back on so engine is not running.
question is is it better to drain oil and remove pan now considering all oil that needs to go down had plenty of time to do so
or to run the engine to make the oil more fluid to make sure I remove all I can?

Ideally you would want the engine warm when you change the oil. However that's not practical if you are going to remove the pan so I would do it cold. It's more important to remove any potential sludge from the pan and oil pump pickup.

Any idea what these black marks might want to say?

Are you talking about the black flecks - could be just in the metal from the casting process. Do they come off when wiped?

Yes it's just some kind of oil crude. I didn't wipe them off completely.
