  • Battlebird at Goodwood

Thought you might like a couple of pics I took on Saturday at the Members Meeting at Goodwood. Battlebird No 99, acquitted itself quite well against the likes of D Type Jags and Astons. Certainly was a talking point..

Thanks for posting those two pix, Jon! You don't see many pix of a Battlebird anymore! I can imagine that it did attract a lot of attention!

Ray, Unfortunately I only had my phone with me so I couldn't get any good action shots.

Jon ,Ray is right you don't see the Battlebird very often. There were 4 made with various engines and modifications made and I believe there is only 1 left 98. Apparently it sold for $280,500 at RM Auctions

The Battlebird was epic, but the Squarebird was the showstopper again this year
despite a little prang in testing the previous week.!! Bill Shepherd has quite a nice toy collection, Battlebird, squarebird, Cobra, Galaxie to name a few..

                Didn't knew that.
While it was up side down he may have checked the transmission so he can finish the race on saturday and race on sunday !

Ha, good point ....it does seem to suffer transmission trouble which is a shame because when itís running itís epic.
