I hate to tell you this Ray BUT if that car was here in New Zealand ?

Most people who saw your number plate would assume it meant 'Yellow Arse'! hehehe!

But the car is a credit to you, very sharp and a real gem!!

Hi Ray,
She's starting to take shape & looking very good. Just curious, is there rubber between the Fender Skirt & the body? The reason why I'm asking is because the gap looks very little as if though they are touching. Do you, or have you ordered your Tailpipe Chrome Tips yet? Patiently waiting for more pix.

Speaking of Yellow Arses. I noticed in one pic the rear trim is painted and in the other it is chrome (gosh it shines). I think the chrome looks best and will really tie the paint scheme and chrome bumpers together. A REAL looker. How you gonna' go anywhere and get something done - might as well plan on all your trips taking 3X as long to answer all the questions and let folks look.

Default "Tweety Bird" Revealed!!

Hi All! Thanks for the comments. Tom, how do they Arse out of RSE? lol.. In Texas, you can only have six letters in your license plate, so I could not get Yel Rose.

There is no rubber gasket stapled onto the top of the fender skirts as there are supposed to be. I had a good conversation with Bart ~ bcomo about this. He stapled his on, was sent the wrong ones, tried using them with rubber gaskets in place and had a heck of a time trying to get them locked into place. So he took them off and was able to get them to lock in place easier. So I took his advice and did not buy the rubber gaskets. They fit pretty snug and Joe still had a bit of a difficult time locking them down. They should not fall off!

When I got there today, they were working on installing the bumper with the original eyebrows and curved pieces in place. They pulled them and put on, but did not lock down, the chrome pieces to see which looked better. I liked the chrome so they installed them and I brought my originals home for safekeeping. Yes, I think I need to do something to make those tail pipe extensions a little flashier!

Yes, she is looking good, and those re-chromed bumpers from Southwest Chrome here, are looking great, as are the other parts. Most everything on the car has been re-chromed or been polished. In the morning, I haul the front bumper and the chromed grill over for them to put on. Wait until you see her teeth shining in the sun! Then it is time to put on the new gun sights, new Adjust-O-Ring mirror, and the new antenna. After that, it will be time to either put on the "new" disc brake ready rims, with my nearly NOS dog dish hubcaps and chromed beauty rings or put the interior back in. We are getting there! Later tonight, I hope to have more pix up on the paint job web page. Thanks, ya'll!

Congrats Ray! What an amazing job that has been done, looks great. The only thing that could be better is to have you behind the wheel taking it for a nice ride! Hey, how about some 2 inch wide white wall tires to add some more white to the car! Your chrome parts are fantastic too, next winter I am pulling the rear bumper off mine so it can be re-done. Keep posting pictures for us.

Ray,

Did you have the body shop install those 2 rubber splash shields (right & left) between the rear bumper & the tail lamp housings? I couldn't tell with that extremely shinny new rear bumper!!

Speaking of rear bumper, I also noticed that "rare" extra center dummy bolt head in the lower center section of your bumper. My '60 looks the same way since I took my trailer tow hitch off...

Looks great Ray! That chrome is awesome. Always liked that tailight trim.

Jon, I too have that "rare" extra bumper bolt !...and Ray, I hate to be a stickler, but your taillight lenses could be rotated 180 degrees.
I believe the center "Y" should look like a "Y"... just sayin'. (I'm fussy like that)
