Default Decoding build code tag?

I have a rare 59 T-Bird with a 3 on the tree and "heat delete" (car serial number H9YH142611). I am in the process of rebuilding the seats with a proper foam kit - last owner stuffed foam around the old foam and put new seat covers on, but unfortunately the foam is biodegrading. At any rate I finally got the drivers seat all apart and found tucked up in the frame a small metal build code plate, or at least I assume that is what this tag represents. Unfortunately, it is in very rough shape, but I was wondering if anyone could help me understand what it says:
5 59 RSC CH1
BAP63847008

I am not 100% sure on the RSC - could be R8C?
Also the 4 might be an A?

Thanks,
Frank

Hey Frank,
Done a little digging and found this in old post. www.tbirdsquare.com Click on this and then go to technical link and then click on ROT.
If you have any trouble let me know!

Cool

Frank as Richard suggested go to the old post and check around to see if that solves the issue. Ray, Frank's 59 according to the TBird Registry was originally ordered bone stock of options reportedly " to keep the selling price down" and sold by a dealer in your back yard San Antonio. TX.

Default Decoding build code tag?

When we were doing the interior of Rose we also found a tag on the underside of the rear seat, hog ringed to it. Mine said 2 59 RSC CHI BAP6366700A. (Not R8C) I was never really able to break it down, except that I think the 2 59 was the month (2) and the year (59) the seat was manufactured. I think the CHI (That 1 in yours might be an I) meant that it was manufactured by a company in Chicago. The B tells you it was a 50's car, and the rest of the coding I was not able to figure out, but it tells you, I think, the coding for the component in the interior. In this case, a seat.

As for the Tbird being bought in San Antonio at Hemphill Ford, I can tell you that dealership no longer exists by that name. It was bought out by famed car dealer B.J. "Red" McCombs years ago, but for quite some time, retained the original name until changed years back. "Red" McCombs, beside being one of the biggest car dealers in Texas, is also well known for having bought, along with a good friend of his, the Dallas Chaparrals ABA basketball team and moved them to San Antonio. They became known in the NBA as the San Antonio Spurs, a team I love and root for. They have won 4 NBA titles so far. This year, they are in the #7 spot in the playoffs and just knocked off the #2 team, the Dallas Mavericks. Dallas now has the distinction of being the only NBA team to have lost to the #8 and now the #7 team in the playoffs... For an interesting read on "Red" McCombs, go to http://www.answers.com/topic/red-mcc...motive-group-1

"Red" is also a past owner of the Denver Nuggets, and the Minnesota Vikings.

If any knows how to fully read these tags, we would love to get the true breakdown. As for getting new foams, many of us got ours directly from Jed Zimmerman, here on the forum. Ca58Tbird. You can see his ad in Advertisements.

I think Arvin manufactured the seats. It may be their tag if metal. The ROTs are paper, right?
