Perhaps one of the TBird parts houses would be interested in buying some to carry in their catalog? That would be nice. Or, of course, Alexander, you might want to keep the extras to sell through squarebirds.org?

Unless the cost would be TO high, I would be interested as well.

I think I can make these detent plates up at reasonable cost through www.bigbluesaw.com .

I have had some difficulty making up the drawings as the part has some irregular curves. I spent the weekend making it up in Visio Technical and exporting into in the requested DXF format only to find on uploading to their site that the cutout part was inexplicably bigger than the piece itself. It looks fine on my computer.

I next made the part up in SolidWorks. This program is an 3D CAD program, so it is overkill making up an essentially 2D part. It came out well, and I was able to output it as a dxf file, but somehow bluesaw sees it as a 200 inch piece with a cutout of the detent plate in the middle. Arrgh!!!

Here is a rendered version of the part I made up in the computer.

I have not given up yet.

Alexander,

Thank you for all your effort - when you're done there will be a bunch of solid shifting T-birds on the road with you to thank!

Mel

I submitted the design to a CAM shop that takes SolidWorks drawings. I should have a quote by next week.

Look at the first sticky message at the top of the board. I got the quote, it will be affordable. I need to know now how many to make.

If everything goes as scheduled I will have the detent plates in two weeks. People who order now will get them in about three weeks.
