Default Generator amp output

I went to Advanced Auto today to buy some door panel clips, they did'nt have the metal ones so I bought the plastic ones for GM and they work great. While I was there I had them run a check on my generator. It was putting out 13.5 volts, which I believe is fine. But it was only putting out 1.3 amps, that is real low is'nt it???? Default gen

I'm thinkin that gen should be putting out more like 14 volts @ around 3500 rpm mabye 14.6. I'm going with alex and convert to a alt. They charge at idle. It's hard enough to get these started after they sat awail esp. if you didn't run it that long it the first place.............Bill

Thumbs up

I just went out an bought a new rebuilt generator because I didn't want the hassle of installing an alternator. I kind of figure that as much as I will use this car then I will stay with the old stock generator.

I have not converted to an alternator yet. This is the site for the alternators that look like generators: http://www.powermastermotorsports.com/powergen.html .

I am doing well as of late on an experimental treatment. I will have tests next week to see if the treatment is having the desired effect.
