    steering shaft placement 1962 BIRD

    I am working on the turn signal contacts and while at it I wanted to grease the upper bearing & when I pulled the bearing up the shaft come up also. Now when I try to move the shaft down it won't move. HELP GUY

    Did it pull out where the rag joint joins the steering box? You may have to loosen the rag joint and push it back on.

      1962 bird steering column

      thank you for the reply. I have checked the rag joint & I don't see any movement at that end. I have tried to move the shift collar thinking that may have moved down on the column but I can't move it. What holds that in place? GUY
