Cool Mike B
I have 1958 T Bird that I'm replacing engine and transmission.
It's being replaced with 2014 coyote 5.0 and auto stick in the console. I have pictures of build will place on site as soon as I can.

Mike, you posted that in the wrong thread, so I moved it here and started a new thread for you. Here in this thread is where you can post pictures of the build you are working on for all of us to see.

Smile same idea !

I've been thinking about the same engine/tranny swap-or maybe new V6 eco-boost. Please let me know how yours turns out... did you have any problems or is it ant easy swap? Did you change rear end or are you still running ford 9 inch?

That's a great engine for this car (or any car), especially if you kept the EFI.

Eric is talking about retrofitting disk brakes. Scarebird makes brackets that bolt onto our spindles and they hold S-10 calipers and pads.

Many of our members have done this upgrade (including myself). Once you feel disk brakes on these old classics, you'll never go back to shoes. - Dave

Sue and Mike, if you are going to the expense, time and effort to put in a V6 Eco-Boost or Coyote system, you should also consider updating the drum brakes on that Tbird (at least the front brakes) to disc brakes. You will probably want something with better braking power then those old drums to handle that new engine and tranny. I put disc brakes on the front of Tweety Bird and I never plan on going back to drums after having disc brakes on her. What Dave said about Scarebird makes brackets that bolt onto our spindles and they hold S-10 calipers and pads is good information. That is what I, Howard Prout and others have on our Squarebirds. To us, that is the best way to go.

You will also want to swap out that single MC with a dual MC and a 8" dual power booster under the hood.

My new Ford Focus Titanium has a 4 cylinder Eco-Boost and 6speed tranny in her and she really gets up and goes! I am amazed at the pep she has and she is a joy to drive.
