Default '60 Golde Top Holman-Moody NASCAR Replica For Sale

Patricia ~ pschouery owns a 1960 Golde Top Holman-Moody NASCAR Replica, Turquoise & White for sale! Wait til you see this! She is located in Washington State. Here is what she had to say about it so far.

"I have a 1960 Squarebird
She has a factory installed 'Golde' Sun Roof.
She has been rebuilt as a NASCAR replica.
She has a 460 Holman and Moody racing engine and a 707 Torque Flight transmission.
Aqua and white interior, aqua exterior with white racing decals, including the number 60.
(the grill is not a 1960)
asking $15,000."

Here is the additional information regarding the cars condition that she sent me tonight.

"As far as condition there are some small amount of cosmetic things..
There is damage on the driver side arm rest. I have a new one to replace it I just haven't done it.
There is a cracked driver side door window but ........ I have a new one to replace it
The fender skirts are missing...... I have new replica unpainted skirts to replace them.
I have a stock radio, not installed (I do not know if it will work) It does Not have the radio face surround piece.
There is a small rip on the back seat arm rest, and a center console cup holder added, not period but painted to match.
It has nice carpet, and seats, the sun roof works.
Runs Good, Body is solid."

You can email her at pschouery@hotmail.com If you do, put T-Bird in the subject line so she will know what the email is about.

She has been a member of our Forum for awhile, but is not conversant with how our Forum works. So she sent me the information and the pix. I do not have her permission yet to post her email address, but if you want to follow up on this, try sending her a Private Message. But be aware that she might not know how to respond to it. Or contact me and I will put you in contact with her. Here are the pix she sent me so far.

Thumbs up

Too bad the engine isn't a HM prepped 430 of the period.

I would think just the rust free body alone (60 Golde Top) would be worth the asking price (?) and the drive-train could be sold. I wonder if it was originally a 352 or 430 car?

BTW-

Let's just say if a 1960 352/360HP (FORD's competition engine for that year) BIRD was released, it would have come through with KH 15" steel wheels of the period. No PB or PS.

I am also fairly sure the 59 BIRD (430) was the only and last year of the NASCAR BIRD (as prepped and raced via HM) as FORD re-entered the race car war in 1960 and the 1960 SUNLINER was much lighter than the BIRD.

It is a beautiful build never-the-less.

Except for the stickers, I love that car! And I donīt care how old that engine are, THAT WILL DO FOR ME!!!
The price is a joke for what it looks like. I am restoring Ruth at this moment and she is bare naked without interior, engine, doors, windows etc, and I only have 1 garage.......

Just like Anders I was very tempted when I saw the condition of that car and the price. The colour is perfect too. Unfortunately there is no way I could import it into Oz with a 460 motor. The local rules are very strict on modifications like that and I would never get it registered here. Oh, and there is also the minor matter of a 1961 convertible I happen to have which is trying my patience to the max.

Who knows, maybe I will be on the lookout for a nice Squarebird in the future....

I know what ya mean, Mark. It is to bad that it is not a car that would meet the requirements for importing it. I hope that someone will be able to give it a good home.
