Default Any concern with transporting my ’60 with a tow dolly?

That was not 300 miles, but $150 x 2 = $300 is how I understood it... When I have had to move Rose by flatbed tow truck, the charge was $50 and that was for only moving it a few miles to get her home or to a shop to be worked on. You might want to check with some other flatbed tow truck operators to see if you can find someone who will do it cheaper for you. After all, it is only a few miles down the road you said... If you move her by this method, just make sure you are there to view the loading process, and make sure he has his flatbed lift angled properly so it does not cause the car to bottom out when it is winched onto the flatbed.

Thinking outside the box. You might consider leaving the car safely at home and donate the $300 to the cause, helping assure the car show charity raises sufficient funds while keeping everyone and everything safe. There's always next year and more shows this season once you've heeled and completed the brake job.

Not too expensive. I'll probably get one even if I don't use it this time. Thanks!

With how beautiful your bird is I would say if you can go with the tow company as suggested would probably be best for peace of mind, but I just wanted to let you know when I bought my 59 bird she may have been slightly taller than stock (some big darn wheels on her) but I had no problem getting her on a U-haul open car trailer (not dolly) she was big for it and it was close, but we didn't scrape, I think we may have overhung the back by a bit, I can't recall. But my bird was a bit rough and how far we had to drive towing wasn't much of an option.

Just FYI like I said, a few miles I would definitely have towed mine home!

I scheduled the tow for Sunday morning. Apparently I’m not the only one that tow company is towing to the show on Sunday. In fact, he’s picking up my Bird at 6:30am because he’s got a few other cars ahead of me that also have to be there before 8:00am.

I posted this event in the "events" section on this forum:
http://www.squarebirds.org/vbulletin...ad.php?t=12670

I really hope some of you can make it to the show on Sunday. I know I'll definitely be on the lookout for other T-Birds.

Default The Tow

Sorry I missed your question about the Uhaul. It fit fine and we actually used a come along that we borrowed. However I am glad to hear you are going with the professionals as that was the best experience out of the moves we did. Less wear and tear on your body as well. My hubby hurt his back when we did the Uhaul move, and that took about 6 months to heal. Not worth that for sure.
