    P/S controll valve hose

Has any one ever used the Flexible rubber replacement hoses for the control valve to power cylinder for the power steering.

The birds nest has them listed as P/n 3A714A.

I was thinking of getting them sense one I removed was bent (kinked), and when I went to straighten it it broke.

Price wise there only $3.00 more for the set and sounds like a good idea to me.

I have them on my cars. No problems with them in decades of driving.

        Rubber power cylinder hoses

I got the new hoses in the mail, I ordered them from the Bird's nest great turn around time BTW.

Sent off a private message to ask a question that I should of asked here.

I did not know what end went where. There is a straight end and a curved end. The answer was the curved end goes to the power cylinder, which only makes sense, sense the holes are almost pointing DOWN

Now any one that decides to order a set knows how to install them.

        Sorry all.

I tried to put the hoses on and the fitting were the wrong size.

Called Don at the bird nest and he told me that the later 1960 Bird had a different valve that used a larger fitting. He is sending me a replacement set.

I give the bird nest 2 thumbs up for customer service.

I think that the two sizes were 1/4" and 5/16". I have a set of steel lines, but I think that I will have to use a brass adapter if I want to install them.

I have rubber lines on the car now, but they are too long. Let me know how the length is after you install yours.

              Got them today

Got the new lines today from the Bird nest , great bunch of guys to do business with.

They look pretty much like the picture in the manual, and the fittings are the same as the ones that were on the car.
They look nothing like the ones one the car those appear to be hand bent

I plan on taking a few pictures before they go on the car and then after they are on.

Doesn't the 60 manual show "steel lines"? I ordered the steel ones, but I might do the rubber now. I think that the rubber will be easier to install. What size fittings did you wind up getting, 1/4 or 5/16?

                  Rubber easy yes

The rubber ones would of been real easy to install.

I did notice that one picture in the '60 manual does show rubber lines from the control valve to the power cylinder.

I believe the rubber ones were 5/16 and the steel ones are 1/4 I will measure them before I install them.
