What is this accessory?

This a 1915 Dodge that was photographed a Toys for Tots car show last year.

These were accessories that were contemporary with the car when new. One is a jack, the second is a fire extinguisher. What is the third object in the lower right hand corner? The piece of paper in the middle of the object is not part of it.

I have no freakin clue.
Is it something to help put tires on rims in case you get a flat?

No.

It is a item that is often used now, but not by the owner of the car as originally.

You might not think this item would be neccessary in 1915.

Exactly. It is a period anti-theft device. Many cars at the time had no ignition lock.

I DID guess that it had something to do with tires!

That vehicle is waaaaay before my time.

It was my 1st NEW car when I graduated college in 1915.

Actually I'm 58, married with one son, a Sr. in College.

The back says I'm 77, and the legs feel like 112, BUT...
the eyes haven't aged, and are still lOOking at the 17 year
old females !!!:+

I knew what the part was from seeing it on an antique fire truck that I saw at a show last Autumn, and I asked the owner what it was. Otherwise, I thought it was a Huge Beer Bottle Opener !!! {Look again}
