Has anyone here ever put a small block, 260 to be exact, in to 59 Fairlane or Galaxie? Crites auto has a conversion engine mount kit for the big blocks only. Any ideas??
What's in there now?? I don't think a 260 is big enough. Go 351 windsor. But to be origenal A worked 312 will out do that 260 That's a heavy car. ...................Bill
it has a 292 in it that is good for an anchor and that's it. We just happen to have rebuilt 260 that we think will match up to the Fordomatic 2 speed that's in it.
Hi, You could probably do that. It's still a big car for the 260. That first came out in the 62 ford fairlane which was alot smaller. Then the mustang in 64. My uncle had a 64 galixy conv. with a 289 and it was a little slugish. Depending on your budget sell the 260 and work that 292 you'd be surprised. that was fords answer to the 265, 283 chev. Take care.............Bill
