With Dave D's affinity for 59s, I'll bet he cried when he saw that.

Looks like 3 1959 Fairlane Galaxie 500's and a single Country Squire Station Wagon...

The '59 Galaxie had THE most confusing badges. It was the very first year for Galaxie.

The trunk lid was carried-over from '58 and all of them read, "Fairlane 500", because the middle digit (0) flipped open to reveal the trunk lock and Ford was too cheap to re-engineer something different.

The Quarter Panels had script that read, "Galaxie."
The glove box door had "Fairlane" script and a smaller Galaxie badge.

My wife's car is body style 54A which officially is a Galaxie Town Sedan. Nowhere does Town or Sedan appear on the car.
Indian Torquoise was only available on Galaxies (not Fairlane) and it had to be in a two-tone with Colonial White.
I have commonly seen ads for 'Galaxie Fairlane 500' cars on eBay, etc. Truth is, in '59 there was no Galaxie 500 (that came later).

They were very confusing until someone matched the Patent Plate body code with Ford's Catalogs.

The picture of the transport carrier makes my skin crawl because I'm from the snow belt and I know how much four of these cars weigh. The truck driver got very lucky and those trees actually saved him AND the cars.

Notice, it takes TWO New York CHEVY TRUCKS to pull out one jackknifed Ford truck out of a ditch. - Dave

            Interesting on the badging!

At least they used a Ford to haul Fords.
