Question about tie rod ends avail.

So I need tie rod ends, all of them on the 65 special

I can get Moog Outer ends for 52 each plus shipping and sales tax, and the inner ends come from a company in Tennessee via my local favorite parts house at 69 each. Total Bill $276

TBird headquarters also carries them for 50 each plus shipping and sales tax, he tells me his are good quality from India.

So I am looking at a difference of about $40.

Which set you think are the better ends?

RustyNCa unless someone on this site, can vouch for the quality and dependability, I would pass on the imported ones from India

      +1 for RustyNCa's comment...

I was at a swap meet a while back, looking at a suspension kit for my '62. The vendor's set was almost NZ$500, while I could get one from another supplier via the internet for $300.

I asked him why the price difference. He keeps two tie rod ends to respond to exactly that question: - he got them out and shopwed me; although the critical areas were the same dimension (stud size, length, thread pitch etc), the actuall body of the ball joint and the ball joint itself was 2/3 of the size of the more expensive version.

Needless to say, I went with the $500 kit.

You do not want to scrimp on critical suspension components, A couple of hundred compared to a possible suspension failure...

Somewhere I have a post about a ball-joint that lasted 2,400 miles, it was possibly made in India.

And I bought it through a reputable Thuderbird parts dealer.

It always pays to ask around.

And Petrolhead, at least you were lucky in that you had a chance to do a comparison, unlike me as per above!
