    430 Oil-Vacuum Pump Disabled

The Vacuum part of the Oil-Vacuum pump on my 60 HT is disabled; probably when it was rebuilt some time back.

The vacuum fitting on the block is there, but no vacuum, and not connected to anything.

How was this done? And do I need it?

I may need to change oil pumps, so do all of the 430 pumps come with the vacuum on it?

    I'm confused --

    Oil pump

If you are not using vacuum operated wipers, you probably do not need the vacuum pump. I have replaced mine with a high volume melling pump from an FE. There are several posts on this subject on the MEL Forum http://www.network54.com/Forum/257364/
You'll have to buy a new oil pump drive (info on that too) but look up persision oil pumps and they should be able to get you an over-length pump drive that can be shortened slightly or he may even have the right one. Here is the shortcut to that thread. http://www.network54.com/Forum/25736...Oil+pump+shaft
