    keys

    hi
i am enteraining the idea of getting a 2dr 1978-75?? town car id as a Lincoln continental. I say 75 because it looks like one i used to own but the taillights say 78. It appears to have a 400 cu but there is some yellow writing on the valve covers, eng may not be org. no title, no keys. no carb., a couple of flat tires but straight body, nice interior, and what appears to be add on spd. control. it also has a 8 track. it was abandent at a repair shop. is there a way to get some keys made from a vin # ??????
    thanks

    RE: keys

I know Ford dealerships were able to make keys base on a code that was stamped on a round piece of metal that was included with the key ring on new cars in the seventies. I am not sure if they still offer that service.
