Heater to vent hose problem

While Yellowbird & his wife (and my wife too!) were cruising with me in our '66 the demister failed to do its job however.

While I had the dash apart to get my CVR out I noticed the convoluted hose from the heater to the vent had fallen off the vent.

I see it has a factory built-in clamp to secure it but these seen to be a 'one use only' device (OK, maybe you can get another turn or two out of them) as the bending'flexing of the over-centre part of the clamp breaks it off.

Apart from a cable-tie is there any other means to secure the hose?

Well I tried cable ties, heater hose - 1, scumdog - 0.

It was a job requiring fingers like octopus tentacles to hold the hose in place AND pull the cable tie tight.

I will persevere but any advice welcome!

I replaced mine because they were deteriorated. I was able to pressure fit the replacements, are yours very loose and floppy?

Duct tape.
